SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Waste Pro Driver Training Center Manager is responsible for providing professional driving skills and safety training to newly hired CDL drivers and the daily operation of the Training Center. The Training Manager, in partnership with management and Human Resources, works to promote the well-being of the organization and the people in it by promoting a strong culture of safety and environmental stewardship in compliance with applicable company policies and procedures encompassing federal, state, local rules and regulations.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Provides initial professional driving skills and safety training to all new employees with CDL's including Smith System driving, DOT regulations, Vehicle Inspections and The Waste Pro Way.
2. Engages and assesses each new employee and provides a full report to the hiring division and region training manager detailing each driver's strengths and any skills deficiencies that may require extra attention in order for the new employee to succeed
3. Communicates open training dates to divisions and handles all scheduling.
4. Partners with maintenance to ensure training trucks are serviced and repaired timely.
5. Documents training of each student in Intelivert System
6. Partners with safety director and region safety trainers to evaluate the effectiveness of current training programs and suggest modifications and changes
7. When not training visits divisions to enhance relationships with management and drivers
8. Promotes continuous improvement and standardization of existing health and safety programs, procedures, and tools to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Waste Pro best practices
9. Provides safety expertise and guidance to safety and operational teams.
10. Consistently seeks to improve the safety culture of both management and employees by ensuring safety is a consideration in everything we do.
11. Acts as a liaison between drivers and management to ensure open lines of communication


OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


* Employees in this job classification must attend and participate in corporation sponsored training courses as assigned.
* Employees in this job classification are responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Waste Pro USA.
* Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.


QUALIFICATIONS:

* Must be at least 21 years of age.
* Must have a CDL class "A" or "B" with air brakes.
* Must have clean driving record.
* 5 years of waste industry driving experience preferred in all lines of business
* 5 years of safety experience preferred
* Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance
* Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
* Ability to certify as a Smith System Driver Trainer if not already certified.
